When we talk about depending on someone, we mean to rely on that person for literally everything; letting that person control what we do, the way we think, the way we should behave, what we need, etc.

The devil fabricated temptation to create an illusion of “independence” from God. The devil wants to destroy your walk in this world and your relationship with God. God (Matthew 24:35), what we need and what is best for us. He is not controlling. He gave us free will, but reminds us that His will for our lives is better than following the fantasies of destruction that the devil tempts us with.

God has control over everything, but as His children, He has put in our hands certain assignments and responsibilities to sharpen us like gold.

Prayer: Ask God to help you identify and understand what things are under His control and not yours, and how can you make wise decisions that will glorify Him, bringing you closer to Him.
